YouTube ReVanced Manager: The Best Guide for Dummies
Step-by-step guide to install YouTube without ads using ReVanced Manager. Non-root friendly and Huawei compatible.
Before We Begin
This guide will teach you how to install YouTube with no ads using ReVanced Manager. The guide is for non-root users and beginners, and it’s also compatible with Huawei devices.
What You’ll Need:
- An Android phone
- Device running Android 8 or later
- About 10 minutes of time (depends on your device)

- Download and install three applications: ReVanced GmsCore (microG), ReVanced Manager, and the currently suggested YouTube APK.
- Open ReVanced Manager and select YouTube to patch it.
- Let the patcher apply the selected features and install the patched app once it’s ready.

Guide and Downloads
Step 1: Install ReVanced Manager
- Download and install ReVanced Manager.
- If you already have it installed, make sure it is the latest version.
- Download ReVanced GmsCore (microG).
- If you do not have a Huawei device, download the default version.
- If you have a Huawei device, download the Huawei-specific version.
Open ReVanced Manager. If prompted, grant permission to install unknown apps.
Go to ReVanced Manager Settings and disable
Save patched app
to prevent future issues.- Open the Patcher tab and click Select an app.
- Click on the Suggested Version.
- After clicking, you will be redirected to a Google search page.
- Click on the first APKMirror link and scroll down to click the red Download button.
Important: Do not install the APK yet — you’ll patch it first using ReVanced Manager.
Step 2: Patch YouTube
- Go back to ReVanced Manager → Patcher tab → Select an app → Storage.
- Browse your Downloads folder and select the YouTube APK you just downloaded.
- ReVanced Manager will display the YouTube app with several selected patches.
- Press Patch to begin patching.
- Keep ReVanced Manager open while the app is being patched. Ensure no errors occur. the patch log should be readable.
- When patching completes, press Install.
💡 Tip: You can also export the patched APK using the button on the bottom left.
- If a popup appears saying installation is blocked because it is an unknown app, tap “More details” → “Install anyway”.
Step 3: Install GmsCore (microG)
Once patching and installation finish, check if ReVanced GmsCore is installed.
- If it’s not installed, you will need it for YouTube ReVanced to run in a non-root environment.
- ReVanced Manager will automatically open the download page if required.
- Huawei users: make sure to install the special Huawei version.

- Open YouTube ReVanced and go to Settings → ReVanced.
- Configure features such as:
- Ad-blocking
- Background playback
- SponsorBlock (skip sponsored segments)

How to Update YouTube ReVanced
- Download the suggested YouTube APK.
- Patch it using ReVanced Manager.
- Install it — no need to uninstall your current YouTube ReVanced or ReVanced Manager.
- Ensure your ReVanced Manager is up-to-date.
- Check if ReVanced GmsCore also has updates on its GitHub releases.
